The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security distributed 120 spectacles to adults and children in Region Five during an outreach on Tuesday.
In a statement the Ministry noted that “The importance of good vision cannot be overstated. It is the window through which we perceive the world around us, and it plays a pivotal role in our daily lives. Imagine being able to see the smiles on your loved ones’ faces, read your favorite books, or appreciate the beauty of the stunning scenery without any hindrance.
Many of our fellow residents faced significant challenges when it came to affording quality eyeglasses. Among the beneficiaries, there are numerous pensioners who have dedicated their lives to our community and school children who hold the promise of our future.
These free tested spectacles not only improve their quality of life but also empower them to continue contributing to our vibrant Region.”
Several other services were also taken to the region during the outreach and residents also had the opportunity to raise concerns.
