The executive members of the National Toshao’s Council inspected works on the $120M spanking new Secretariat on Tuesday.
The new building which is located at the National Exhibition Centre, Sophia, Georgetown, will soon be occupied once procurement of office equipment and furnishings are done.
The facility consists of an administrative section, and a dome, which will be used to host meetings and other events. Additionally, the admin building has four self-contained rooms that will provide accommodation for Toshaos travelling for meetings in the city. Electricity to the building will be provided by GPL and also Solar Powered.
Members of the executive expressed deep satisfaction on the structure.
The council said “The NTC, as the representative body of all Indigenous leaders in Guyana, remains committed to continue working closely with Ministry of Amerindian Affairs and all our partners to promote the rights and interests of Indigenous communities.”
