The lifeless body of a man was pulled by a security guard from the Courtyard Mariott pool in Paramaribo Suriname this afternoon.
Dead is 36-year-old Arun Kumar. He is said to be part of the delegation from India that is currently in Suriname on official visit.
The News Desk understands that Kumar, who was staying at the Courtyard Marriott hotel in Paramaribo, spent the afternoon in the swimming pool of the hotel.
Moments later, a security guard on duty found the man in the pool unresponsive and took him out of the water, after which the Surinamese police were called to the scene.
No marks of violence were found on the body which was pronounced dead by a doctor at the location.
A post-mortem examination will be done to determine the cause of death.
