Wanted man, John Kennedy (Left) Deceased, Jaleel Leow (Right)
The police in Berbice have arrested a man who was wanted in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Jaleel Leow.
39-year-old John Kennedy of Sophia Georgetown was apprehended at about 10 hours in the vicinity of Main and Church Street, New Amsterdam Berbice. At the time of his arrest, he had an unlicensed 9MM pistol and 15 9MM live rounds in his possession.
He was cautioned and taken into custody pending charges.
Meanwhile, two years ago, a wanted bulletin was issued for Kennedy after being implicated in the murder of Leow, a mechanic of Dennis Street, Campbellville Georgetown which occurred on 02nd August 2021. Leow was shot four times.
The police had said that the victim was liming at a shop with friends when they were ambushed by the suspect and two others on pedal cycles. They were armed with cutlasses and a firearm.
Investigations are ongoing.
