Police in Region Six are tight-lipped in relation to a fatal incident that claimed the life of 17-year-old Roana Rajpaul and 38-year-old Harrinarine Ramnauth both of Number 60 village on the Corentyne.
The accident took place in the wee hours of Tuesday on the Number 68 Public Road and no reports have been released in relation to the incident causing family members to assumed that there is more to what transpired resulting in the death of their loved ones.
Aunt of the teen, Shakuntalla Persaud told thenewsdeskgy.com that she was at home when she received the news at about 10 hours on Tuesday that her nephew was involved in an accident and she immediately rushed to the Skeldon Public Hospital where her worst fear was met.
She said her nephew was already in the hospital mortuary and suffered severe injuries about the body. “We come back at the shop at 68 turn where the accident happen that get the CCTV camera to see if we can get a copy to see how the accident happen and the guy give us his words that he will send it via whatsapp”
According to the aunt, the police visited them on Thursday and informed that they cannot show them the CCTV footage “because it gonna cause problem.” This caused family members to believe foul play in connection with the accident. They are contending that another vehicle could be involved in the accident.
Over at the home of Ramnauth, his wife and mother are hoping that a thorough investigation will be conducted.
