The Police are investigating a serious accident that took place at about 10 hours 15 on the Kiltearn Public Road on the Corentyne earlier today between three motor cars after one of the drivers fell asleep and lost control of his car and collided with the other two.
thenewsdeskgy.com understands that motor car PVV 6685 which was being driven by 25-year-old Hanraj Dharamha of Number 63 village Corentyne was proceeding north along the western drive lane on the Kiltearn Public Road when the driver fell asleep while driving and lost control of his motor car.
The front portion of his vehicle collided with motorcar PRR 8475 which was being driven by 20-year-old Tushan Jagdeo of Number 1 Public Road Corentyne and motor car PWW 9279 which was being driven by 25-year-old David Gill of Number 43 village on the Corentyne were both proceeding south along the eastern drive lane.
As a result of the collision, the driver of motor car PWW 9279 and driver of motor car PVV 6685 along with occupants 65 year old Ewart Bagot received injuries about their bodies. They were all taken out of the vehicle in a conscious condition by public spirited citizens and taken to the Port Mourant Public Hospital where the driver was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who treated and sent him away.
The driver of motor car PWW 9279 and the driver of motor car PVV 6685 along with the occupants were seen and examined by a doctor who treated and transferred them to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where they were further examined and admitted a patient.
The driver of motor car PVV 6685 is in police custody, breathalyzer test was conducted on all the driver and same read zero.
Investigations are continuing.
