In an effort to fast track the documentation process for lands allocated in the Williamsburg/Hampshire housing scheme, Region 6, a special exercise was held today at the Regional Housing Office.
Earlier today, a team from the Land Administration Department joined staff of the Region 6 Housing Office as they engaged more than a hundred persons who were allocated residential houselots.
The allottees were invited to sign up for their Agreements of Sale document, thus starting the process for the processing of Transport.
Cheif Executive Officer of the Central Housing and Planning Authority, Mr. Sherwyn Greaves was also on ground to process and hand over the Agreements of Sale, immediately to the allottees.
While persons can visit the Regional office on a daily business to conduct this transaction, Minister Collin D Croal who was also at the exercise noted that this exercise was geared at fast tracking the process, and was done as persons have raised concerns about the turn over time to uplift Agreements of Sales after they would have signed-up.
He added that while the Regional offices do these exercise on a daily basis, engagements like today’s play a significant role in breaking down the backlog.
Additionally, the allottees were also facilitated with the signing up for Transport. Altogether, some 250 persons where allocated low and moderate-income lots in the Williamsburg/Hampshire scheme.
Today’s exercise saw just over 100 persons signing and receiving their documents. With this document in hand, persons can now approach financial institutions as well as utility companies for financing and much needed services as they move along their journey to home ownership.
