The Sheriff Group of Companies will immediately begin the ground work for the construction of its Mall at Palmyra on the Corentyne which will be done in four phases.
The first phase will see the company investing over $1.4B on construction which is expected to be completed by August of next year after which the second phase of construction will commence.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, Managing Director of the company, Ameir Ahmad has said that the company is humbled to embark on this new chapter in their mission to contribute to Guyana’s growth and development.
He said the mall will not only redefined the landscape of the community, but will also contribute to the economic prosperity of the region.
Ahmad disclosed that the mall will comprise high-end boutiques, entertainment, state-of-the-art cinema, gaming zones, and several food outlets among others.

Armogan said that with the mall in place, it will be a center of attraction for all the other activities that are taking place at the Palmyra location.
He noted that such a facility has exemplifies the confidence that investors are having in Region Six – East Berbice Corentyne.
Meanwhile, the chairperson of the Berbice Chamber of Commerce, Samantha Reid has welcomed the new project which will help transform the region.
