Police are investigating an alleged murder committed on Shawn Persaud, called ‘Buckman’, a 17-year-old from Besty Ground, East Canje, Berbice, which occurred at about 19:00 hrs last evening (2023-11-04) at Adelphi Village, East Canje, Berbice.
Investigations revealed that a teenager allegedly stabbed Persaud. One villager told investigators that he heard shouts about ‘Buckman get bore’, and he then ran to the cross street in Adelphi Village, where he joined a crowd that had gathered and saw Shawn Persaud lying on the ground.
Persaud was taken to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.
Police are looking for the alleged suspect, who is said to be 17 years old. Investigations are continuing.
