The two survivors of Wednesday’s fatal Bell 412 crash have been extracted from the site of the accident and were flown to the Blakeslater Aerodrome.
Lieutenant (Lt) Andio Crawford and Corporal (CPL) Dwayne Jackson have undergone checks by medical doctors and are currently being prepared to be transported to the Eugene F. Correia International Airport.
They were among seven persons, five of whom lost their lives when a Guyana Defense Force GDF helicopter they were traveling in crashed on Wednesday morning about 30 miles east of the Guyana- Venezuela border.
Those confirmed dead are Brigadier Gary Beaton- Project Engineer, GOG; Colonel Michael Shahoud- Commander 1st Infantry Battalion; Lt Col Michael Charles- Pilot; Lieutenant Colonel Sean Welcome- Commanding Officer Reserve Battalion and Staff Sergeant Jason Khan- 31 Special Forces Squadron.
