The life of 23-year-old Yoannys Moreno has not been a walk in the park.
It was marred with constant abuse by her ex-partner, who initially welcomed her, her mother, and her siblings to his Timehri, East Bank Demerara home.
Their relationship brought forth two children, now ages 4 years and 8 months old.
However, this relationship took a turn for the worst, thus resulting in her ex-partner throwing her along with her kids and family members out of his house.
Collecting their bundles, Moreno and her family travelled to her brother-in-law’s place along the along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, where they were offered a piece of land on which they erected a make-shift shack out of ply and zinc.
With no flooring in the small structure, the family slept on the ground and made use of whatever resources they had to make their life comfortable.
Nevertheless, their plight was brought to the attention of businessman Mr. Azruddin Mohamed, who, without hesitation, reached out to the struggling family.
After about ten days of mobilizing resources and working around the clock, the family is now the proud owner of a two-bedroom home.
In addition, the house is equipped with the basic amenities to start life afresh.
It was handed over earlier today and will be the new home for Moreno, her two children, mother, siblings, and two other family members.
The young mother did not have words to thank Mr. Mohamed for his kindness and generosity.
His generosity, she added, will help her family tremendously to secure a brighter future for them.
Meanwhile, the businessman encouraged the family to build upon his kindness to further develop their lives.
