The Police in Berbice are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a father of 14 who resides at Princess Elizabeth Road New Amsterdam.
The dead man has been identified as 42-year-old Godfrey Daniels.
While the circumstances surrounding his death are unclear, his son Godfrey Daniels Jr. told reporters that based on information he received is that his father had a misunderstanding with a male in-law.
He said he is not sure what transpired during the misunderstanding that resulted in his father being taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he died.
According to the younger Daniels, his father and the in law who is currently in custody would often get into heated confrontations.
He is calling for a thorough investigation to be conducted so that whoever is responsible for his father’s death face the the full brunt of the law.
Regional Commander, Shivpersaud Bacchus said that investigation into the incident is still ongoing and promised to provide a detailed report afterward.
