The BIC Saramacca editorial office has reported that a 30-year-old woman from Bintanggorweg, Groningen is suspected to have been involved in an incident where her Toyota Rush sank into the river.
Further information from the District Commissioner reveals that the Suriname Maritime Authority and the Fire Brigade have been contacted by the Saramacca police, and divers are already on site to commence the search operation in the river.
The News Desk understands that a similar incident occurred five months ago, involving another female driver whose body was found a few days later.
