The Guyana Water Incorporated has initiated a collaborative effort with the Orealla Village Council aimed at extending its water distribution network in the region to cater to the needs of more households by providing them with safe and clean drinking water.
Significant progress has already been made with the laying of pipelines, and the construction of the foundation for a trestle, which will serve as a support structure for water tanks, has been successfully completed within the last few days.
In an update provided by Toshao Laurence Vandenburg of Orealla/Siparuta, it was highlighted that the next phase will involve pumping water from the existing pump station into the newly installed tanks situated on the trestle.
Subsequently, the water will be released from these tanks into the expanded distribution network, thereby ensuring an increased reach of potable water to the households in the area.
