Police are investigating a stabbing incident in Kwakwani Park, Upper Berbice River, where 28-year-old Lancelot Captain sustained multiple stab wounds during an altercation with his drinking buddy around 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The suspect has been taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow (Tuesday).
According to reports, Captain and the suspect were in a social gathering at the Kwakwani ballfield when an argument escalated, resulting in Captain being injured. He was subsequently rushed to the Kwakwani Hospital Complex for treatment and later transferred to the Linden Hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.
The suspect is assisting police with their investigations.
