Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, arrived in Guyana on Tuesday for a three-day State Visit. He was welcomed at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport by President Dr. Irfaan Ali, accompanied by members of his Cabinet and senior officials from the Joint Services.
Later that evening, at the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Georgetown, President Ali introduced Prime Minister Modi to several CARICOM leaders attending the 2nd India-CARICOM Summit.
Prime Minister Modi also engaged with members of the Indian diaspora in Guyana and enjoyed a vibrant cultural display celebrating unity in diversity under the “One Guyana” initiative.
Today, the two leaders are scheduled to hold high-level discussions and witness the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), further strengthening the partnership between India and Guyana.
