The jockey who died after falling off a horse during the Guyana Cup horse race meet at Rising Sun on the West Coast of Berbice has been identified as Kishawn Pereira.
This was confirmed moments ago by Region Five Commander, Lonsdale Withrite.
The News Desk understands that the incident occurred during the final race as the sun was setting. In a video seen by this publication, Pereira’s horse is seen running alone toward the finish line with ambulances trailing behind.
