Kevin Odit, a 23-year-old Labourer of Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast, was charged for the offence of Unlawful Wounding, committed on 56-year-old Chateram Persaud called ‘Wolfee’, which occurred on 28th of May 2023, at Anna Regina Market Road, Essequibo Coast.
On Wednesday, 11th of October 2023, the case was heard at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court, before Magistrate Esther Sam, where the defendant appeared virtually from prison.
The victim testified and the defendant changed his plea from not guilty to guilty for the charge.
He was sentenced to twelve (12) months imprisonment.
