Prominent Berbice businessman Shabeer Baksh has thrown his support behind the Tucber Cricket Club and the Berbice Umpires Association through the provision of uniforms.
Baksh, who is the proprietor of Big B’s Restaurant, Baksh Travel Service, and the MSB Complex, told The News Desk that as a long-time cricket enthusiast, it was only fitting that he offered his support when the club and association reached out to him.
He noted that he appreciates the efforts of the Tucber Cricket Club in consistently producing skilled cricketers with impressive records, many of whom have gone on to represent Guyana at the international level.
Similarly, Baksh said his support for the Berbice Umpires Association stems from their dedication to molding young cricketers and providing a vital service to the sport.
“I want to see cricket improve, and I’m pretty much excited that I can afford this support to the club and the umpires association,” Baksh said.
