The Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce officially launched the 18th annual Berbice Exposition and Trade Fair 2024 earlier today. The event is scheduled to take place from October 18th to October 21st, 2024, at the Rose Hall Estate Community Center Ground in Canje.
This year’s edition is set to feature over 150 booths, with 50 percent of them already reserved by exhibitors. Tickets for entry are priced at $500, making the event accessible to a wide range of visitors, from local entrepreneurs to regional stakeholders.
Delivering the keynote address at the launch, Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. Zulfikar Mustapha, commended the Chamber for its instrumental role in fostering economic growth in Region Six. He highlighted the Government’s sustained investments across the region, noting that these efforts are designed to spur private sector participation and create a robust business climate.
Minister Mustapha emphasized the importance of the Exposition and Trade Fair in providing a platform for exhibitors to showcase their products and services while encouraging innovation and the development of competitive business practices.
“As we continue to collaborate in building Guyana’s economy, I urge you to seize this opportunity to gather information, establish long-term partnerships, strengthen existing investments, and position yourselves as key players in the nation’s development,” the Agriculture Minister stated.
He further expressed confidence that the event would facilitate valuable exchanges between businesses and consumers, driving growth in various sectors.
Region Six Chairman, David Armogan, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the significance of the Berbice Exposition and Trade Fair for the local community. He noted that the annual event has become a highly anticipated event for Berbicians, offering a unique opportunity for businesses to display their products and services while providing residents the chance to purchase local goods.

The theme for this year’s Exposition and Trade Fair is “Innovation in Oil, Gas, and Agriculture for a Sustainable Future.” and Poonai Bhigroog, President of the Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce, remarked that the theme is particularly relevant given the ongoing developments in Guyana’s economy. He stressed that innovation in these sectors is essential to achieving a prosperous and sustainable future for all Guyanese.
