Police are investigating the alleged murder of 22-year-old Michael Jackson, a fisherman from No. 72 Village, Corentyne, Berbice. The incident reportedly took place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, around 9:00 p.m. at No. 76 Housing Scheme, Corentyne.
The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Terrence Simon Adams, a fisherman from Lot 219 Fourth Street, No. 76 Housing Scheme, is reportedly the brother-in-law of the victim.
The News Desk understands that the two men had ongoing disagreements. On the night in question, Jackson was at a wake in the area when Adams allegedly approached and attacked him, inflicting a single stab wound to his chest before fleeing the scene.
Jackson managed to return to the yard of the wake, where he collapsed. He was rushed to the Skeldon Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect remains at large, and investigations are ongoing.
