The Police in Berbice are investigating an alleged rape committed against an 83-year-old woman from New Amsterdam in Region Six.
This was confirmed by police who said that the woman was taken to the New Amsterdam Regional Hospital to be examined earlier today but doctors there said that there were no indications that she was raped.
However, the police are trying to locate a male in connection with the allegations.
