A 47-year-old businessman, Kyle Anthony Solomon, of D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown, was fatally stabbed around 4:00 a.m. today, February 5th, 2025. Police are currently investigating the incident and searching for the suspect, a 16-year-old from D’Urban Backlands.
Investigations revealed that Solomon exited his house and saw the teenager attempting to gain entry into his shop, located about 30 feet from his home. The businessman raised an alarm, causing the suspect to flee. Solomon pursued the teen, and upon catching up with him, a heated confrontation ensued.
During the altercation, the suspect reportedly pulled out a knife and inflicted several stab wounds on the businessman before fleeing the scene.
The injured Solomon was later pronounced dead by a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital. His body was transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Police have questioned several persons and are making efforts to locate the suspect as investigations continue.
