The Chairperson and vice chairperson for the 18 Neighbourhood Democrstic Councils across Region Six were sworn in during a simple ceremony at the Boardroom of the Regional Democrstic Council earlier today.
After taking the oath of office, the 18 chairpersons and 18 vice-chairpersons were told to serve their respective communities to the best of their abilities despite which political party they are representing.
Region Six Chairman, David Armogan reminded them that they are servants of the people and to build relationships with the people within their communities. He said every community has problems and so the chairperson and vice chairpersons are expected to deliver.

“I know you might not have all resources to solve all the problems the people are bringing to you, but we have to work together with the RDC and central government as well to be able to gather resources to satisfy the needs of the people.” Armogan added.
Regional Vice Chairman, Zamal Hissain and Regional Executive Officer, Narindra Persaud also encouraged the chairpersons and vice chairpersons to ensure maximum participation at the council so that they can effectively represent the people within the respective NDC areas.
