An officer who was previously assigned to the Criminal Investigations Department and who dealt with several major criminal activities in Region Six has been reverted and transferred to general duties within the division.
While the circumstances surrounding his transfer are not clear, the Region Six Commander, Shivpersaud Bacchus would only confirm that he was transferred to general duties.
The News Desk understands that the officer was responsible for the investigation into the Rose Hall Town double murder where 32-year-old Melissa Arokium and her eight-year-old son, Anthony Arokium were killed and the robbery that took place at the Regional Democratic Council in New Amsterdam.
However, when Major Crimes visited the region and took over the investigation, the officer was reverted and transferred based on investigations conducted by the Major Crimes Unit.
