Totaram, his wife and three of his four kids.
Meet 44-year-old Navin Totaram of 46 Village, Corentyne. He is a devoted father of four and lives with a speech disability, as does his wife. Yet, despite the challenges they face, all four of their children can speak, and one is currently studying in India through a Government scholarship.
On Easter Monday, The News Desk met Mr. Totaram at Number 63 Beach, where he was proudly attempting to fly his handmade plane kite, one of the standout attractions of the day.
What makes his story even more inspiring is that despite his disability, Mr. Totaram successfully operates his own business. He runs a mechanic shop from his home, providing a living for his family and showing what perseverance and hard work can achieve.

Speaking through his neighbour, Nimoon Rajab, he shared that he believes he can accomplish anything once he puts his mind to it. Rajab also shared that her neighbour has always been passionate about planes, and building a kite in the shape of one was his way of bringing that dream to life.
Navin Totaram is a powerful example of strength and determination. His story reminds us that limitations do not define us. With passion, purpose, and resilience, anything is possible.
