Police in Regional Division # 6 are investigating the discovery of a suspected firearm, ammunition and a quantity of suspected cannabis following an intel-led operation conducted at a residence on Tuesday November 18, 2025, at Cromarty Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.
A team of ranks led by senior officers visited the home of a 43-year-old farmer and his 55-year-old partner, a part-time worker both of Cromarty Farm, where a search was carried out.
During the search, ranks recovered one suspected .32 firearm under a mattress in a bedroom along with one suspected .32 round. In another area of the home, ranks also found two additional suspected .32 rounds, along with three small transparent zip-lock bags containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
Both individuals were told of the offence committed and were arrested. The suspected narcotics were weighed in their presence and amounted to 8 grams and were lodged along with the firearm and ammunition.
Both individuals remain in custody as investigations continue.
