Senior Minister within the Office of the President with Responsibility for Finance and Public Service, Hon. Dr. Ashni Singh, toured the various booths at the Berbice Expo and Trade Fair in Rose Hall Estate Community Center Ground on Saturday where he engaged with patrons and exhibitors alike
The Expo, which officially opened on Friday under the theme “Innovation in Oil, Gas, and Agriculture for a Sustainable Future,” offers a platform for both large and small businesses across Guyana to present their products and services. The event aims to provide local enterprises with an opportunity to connect with potential clients and expand their reach.

After spending time at the event, Minister Singh shared his thoughts with the media, expressing enthusiasm about the vibrant atmosphere and the high level of participation from businesses across the country. “We are witnessing economic diversification through products and services at Berbice Expo,” he stated. The minister remarked on the energy at the Rose Hall Canje Ground, where exhibitors from Berbice and beyond had gathered to showcase their goods.
Minister Singh noted that the quality of products on display, many of which are produced at world-class standards, is reflective of the economic transformation that the government has been aiming for, particularly in Region Six.

“What I saw here today tells me that we are achieving the very economic transformation that we have been speaking about—right here in Region Six,” he said.
He further expressed satisfaction with the turnout, noting that it reflects the growing dynamism of the region’s economy. According to Minister Singh, the increase in disposable income among Guyanese is evident from the strong consumer activity at the event.
The minister also commended the Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce for successfully organizing the Expo, which runs until Monday.
Regional Vice Chairman Zamal Hussain accompanied the minister during the visit and engaged with patrons and exhibitors throughout the event.
