The Police in Region Five are investigating the circumstances surrounding a horrific accident that resulted in the death of three adults and a child last evening on the Vygeval DeHoop Public Road, East Coast Demerara.
thenewsdeskgy.com understands that the accident took place at about 18 hours 35 and involved motor car bearing registration number PMM 7104 which was being driven by 33-year-old Kellon Jones of Lot 657 Fort Ordinance East Canje Berbice who died in the accident and another motor car with registration number PPP 4090 owned and driven by 26-year-old Christ Gonsalves of Cane Grove East Coast Demerara who also died in the accident.
Decessed, Jason and Jamela Rudder.
At the time of the accident, Jones was heading to Region Six with passengers, 37-year-old Jason Rudder and his 11-year-old daughter, Jamela Rudder of East Bank Berbice both of whom also died in the accident.
Additionally, two other passengers identified as 50-year-old Shelly Harry of East Canje Berbice and 21-year-old Vikram Ramjawan also of East Canje Berbice survived the accident but are hospitalized.
Reports are that motor car PMM 7104 which was being driven by Jones, was proceeding East along the Northern side of Vygeval Public Road Mahaica East Coast Demerara while motor car PPP 4090 was proceeding west along the southern side of the said road when the driver overtook a motor car and collided with the right side front of Jones’s vehicle.

As a result of the collision, both drivers along with the occupants received injuries and were all taken out of both vehicles by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Mahaicony Public Hospital where Kellon Jones, Jason Rudder, Jamela Rudder, and Christ Gonsalves were seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced them dead on arrival, while Vikram Ramjawan was seen and examined by a doctor on duty treated and sent away and Shelly Harry was seen and examined by a doctor on duty treated and later transferred to Georgetown Public Hospital suffering from a fractured right leg.
Investigations are ongoing.
