Harris Paints Guyana has marked a major milestone in its 30-year history with the establishment of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and flagship retail store in Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara. This significant investment shows the company’s commitment to delivering top-quality products while contributing to the economic growth of Guyana, one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.
The new 10,000-square-foot, two-story facility, situated on a 25,000-square-foot property, is set to enhance Harris Paints’ local manufacturing capabilities, create employment opportunities, and establish the site as a regional hub for premium paint products.
“We are thrilled to open this new Manufacturing Plant and flagship store, which will focus on continuous improvement to serve developers and contractors here in Beterverwagting,” said Marguerite Desir, Chief Operating Officer of Harris Paints International. “This investment is a testament to our belief in Guyana’s potential and our commitment to supporting the country’s remarkable transformation. With this new plant, we aim to enhance our capacity to meet the growing needs of our customers, deliver high-quality products, and contribute to the nation’s economic development.”
The official opening ceremony and reception will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, where key insights into the facility’s operations and the company’s plans for growth will be shared.
Harris Paints Guyana, which opened its doors in 1992, has earned a strong reputation for serving both commercial projects and homeowners. The company’s adoption of the innovative Quantum colour platform two years ago significantly boosted its efficiency and colour accuracy, contributing to its ongoing regional and global expansion efforts.
Marguerite Desir highlighted the advantages of the Quantum system, noting its ability to produce any colour from a single master base, eliminating the need to stock multiple bases and ensuring improved fade resistance. This technology, she said, has not only simplified operations but also opened doors for Harris Paints to expand globally to regions such as Latin America, Europe, and even countries like Bangladesh.
The new manufacturing plant and Pro Paint Centre in Guyana will adhere to the strict quality management standards that Harris Paints is known for, in line with its ISO 9001 accreditation. This commitment to excellence ensures that the company continues to deliver superior products and services.
