Even as contractors forge ahead with infrastructure works in sections of the Good Hope, East Coast Demerara, Housing scheme, the first batch of allottees early Friday morning participated in a lot identification exercise.
The activity is making good on a commitment made by Minister of Housing and Water, the Hon. Collin Croal during a visit to the area a week ago.
The elated allottees were led on the exercise by surveyors of the agency’s planning department, and guided to their respective lots and boundaries.
Only last Friday, Minister Croal toured a number of schemes along the East Coast of Demerara where he engaged contractors and urged them to work towards their deadline in an effort to allow thousands of allottees access to their lands.
Over the coming weeks more allottees will be invited to participate in their lot identification exercise as more of the lands become accessible.
Contractors are currently working around the clock to complete the road and drainage networks in this scheme.
