Police in Region Six are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a fisherman, identified only as “Junior” of Crabwood Creek, whose body was discovered in a drain early this morning.
Acting Commander of Region Six, Ravindra Stanley, confirmed to The News Desk that the body was found in a sitting position with what appeared to be two wounds. The deceased was transported to the mortuary for examination as authorities work to determine the cause of death.
Commander Stanley stated that no reports have been received regarding any suspicious activity involving the deceased. However, he disclosed that a knife was found in the fisherman’s right-side pocket, while a cutlass was discovered behind his back pocket.
“A wound was found on him, but we can’t say whether it was inflicted by anyone. We haven’t received any reports from anyone saying they saw anything related to the incident whatsoever,” he noted.
Investigations are ongoing.
