A Lance Corporal attached to the Guyana Defense was arrested on Tuesday and later handed over to Guyana Defense Force for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old.
The News Desk was reliably informed that the officer sexually assaulted the teenager within the Number 51 Station District on the Corentyne.
Officials from the Childcare and Protection Agency and Welfare Department in Region Six are expected to compile a report after speaking with the victim then a file will be prepared and advice will be sought from the Director of Public Prosecution on the way forward.
