Police acting on intelligence have arrested Michael Caesar, a 27-year-old Guyanese male of Blueberry Hill, Linden, who is a suspect in the alleged murder of Samuel Marciano.
Caesar was arrested at a popular nightclub in New Amsterdam, Berbice, at about 00:30 hrs on Friday, December 20, 2025, by a party of police ranks from Region Six. He is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
Marciano, a 22-year-old miner of One Mile, Wismar, Linden, was fatally shot on Sunday, November 2, 2025, during a social gathering at a shop located at 14 Miles Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni, at around 01:00 hrs.

MarPreliminary investigations revealed revealed that the victim was allegedly shot multiple times by two known individuals. Upon arrival at the scene, police ranks found Marciano’s body bearing several gunshot wounds. Several spent shells and one live round were recovered.
The victim was escorted to the McKenzie Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty. His body remains at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Investigators are continuing their efforts to locate the second suspect, and the Guyana Police Force is appealing to members of the public who may have information that can assist the investigation to contact 911 or the nearest police station.
