The Police in Berbice are investigating a report of an Alleged Break and Enter and Larceny committed on Church’s building located at lot 11 Strand and Trinity Street New Amsterdam Berbice, which occurred between 01:15hrs and 07:15hrs on Sunday.
According to information received from the assistant supervisor that worked the night shift along with four other staff on 14/01/2024,at about 01:15 hrs they closed the business and secured the daily sales in a safe situated in the said building. She then carried out a thorough check and secured the building by all means provided and went home leaving all items intact.
Further information received from another Assistant Supervisor is that on 14/01/2024 at about 07:15 hrs, she came in for work and discovered the metal door was closed in, but the bolts were open. She further went to another room and observed that a window was broken and a chair was under the said window. one empty cash register was stolen.
The safe with cash was intact in the building and no cash was stolen. She also did not find any security on the premises.
The said cash register was recovered at Trinity Street, New Amsterdam
