Ranks from Mahdia Police Station, acting on information received, went to the home of Cecelia Ann Roberts, a 55-year-old Vendor, and Kwame Roberts, a 37-year-old Vendor, both residing at 111 Miles, Mahdia, where a search was carried out in the house, in their presence between 04 hours 45 and 05 hours 10 during which the ranks found a large quantity of marijuana.
The ranks found a handbag, and inside were thirty-three (33) transparent ziplock bags containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be Cannabis.
A further search was carried out, and the ranks found two (2) plastic bags containing suspected marijuana and several empty packs of ziplock bags, tobacco leaves, and scissors.
They were arrested and escorted to Mahdia Police Station, along with the suspected Cannabis.
The suspect Cannabis was weighed in the presence of Cecelia Ann Roberts and Kwame Roberts and amounted to 557 grams.
They were then placed into custody pending further investigations and charges.
