The Police in the Upper Demerara Berbice region have arrested a man on Friday who is accused of stabbing his father multiples time about the body as well as two of his siblings following an argument on Thursday.
Those injured are 61-year-old Ronald Lambert, his son, 36-year-old Roy Lamber, and 23-year-old Renne Lambert, all of Wiruni Village, Berbice Rover.
thenewsdeskgy.com understands that the suspect who lives with his father Ronald, arrived home on the day in question intoxicated and went into the family’s kitchen where he took bread to eat and went over to the home of his brother, Renne.
However, while there, Renne’s stepson, a three-year-old saw the suspect eating the bread, broke a piece and ate. This caused the suspect to become annoyed and went home where he began arguing with his father.
His older brother Roy who lives opposite his father’ home heard the commotion and went over to the house and spoke to the suspect. The suspect then went and sit on the veranda while the father and other brothers were in the yard talking and laughing among themself.
The suspect became annoyed once again and armed himself with a kitchen knife and approach the victims and dealt his father two wounds one to the left side of his neck and one to the left upper arm. After seeing this, Renne hugged in an attempt to stop him, but the suspect dealt him five stabs to his right upper back.
The other brother, Roy then held on to the suspect to take the knife from him and he also received a wound to his left upper arm but managed to tie the suspect hand and feet with a cement rope, but he later escaped.
Roy then took his father and brother to the Kwakwani Hospital complex, where they were all seen and examined by a doctor on duty and were all admitted.
The father and his son, Renne were later transferred to the Linden Hospital for further treatment. The suspect was arrested on Friday and is assisting the police with their investigation.
