A hire car driver was transferred from the Linden Hospital Complex to the Georgetown Public Hospital after being shot at by an unknown individual whose face was covered with a mask and dressed in dark colored clothing on Saturday.
The injured man has been identified as 33-year-old Norbert Beckles also known as “Bull Boy” of Lot 45 Victory Valley, Wismar Linden.
thenewsdeskgy.com understands that the incident took place at about 19 hours 50 last night while the victim was on his way home through on the Victory Valley Public Road.
Beckles told detectives that he had just arrived from Georgetown and while walking to his home along the Victory Valley Public Road, he looked through an alleyway and observed an unidentifiable male walking out from the alleyway pointing a handgun in his direction.
He said, he began running and heard several loud explosions from behind him after which he felt a burning in his buttock. He ran and turned through a track and made his way to the Wismar Police Station where he made a report.
Beckles was immediately escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was admitted as a patient nursing a gunshot injury to his buttock. The bullet reportedly exited through his penis.
The hire car driver was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further evaluation.
Several persons in the area were questioned but no useful information was received. Checks were made for CCTV but none was seen.
The investigation is ongoing.
