In a significant development, the Guyana Police Force has successfully apprehended two individuals in connection with a ‘Break-and-Enter-and-Larceny’ case that occurred on November 22, 2023, in Yarrowkabra.
The suspects, identified as Amos Emannuel, a 22-year-old unemployed resident of Circuitville, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, and Bryan Khan, a 28-year-old unemployed resident of Yarrowkabra, were taken into custody following a thorough investigation.
Emannuel and Khan were brought in for questioning, during which Emannuel confessed to their involvement in the break-in at the residence of Mohamed Hack, a pensioner. According to Emannuel, they unlawfully entered Hack’s house and stole a firearm and ammunition. Post-robbery, Khan allegedly took possession of the stolen firearm and a portion of the ammunition.
Subsequent to Emannuel’s admission, Khan cooperated with detectives, leading them to his residence in Yarrowkabra. In a small clump of bushes at the back of his yard, Khan pointed out a black plastic container containing an Astra .38 revolver with three matching rounds in the barrel. Additionally, two spent shells and forty-nine live .38 rounds of ammunition, belonging to Hack, were discovered in an ammunition box.
Further interviews with the suspects revealed that Khan buried additional ammunition in the vicinity of Alwyn James’s residence. James, a 27-year-old Taxi driver of Yarrowkabra, was subsequently arrested and is currently in custody, aiding investigators in the ongoing inquiry.
During a thorough excavation of the specified area, detectives uncovered thirty-one twelve-gauge cartridges concealed in a black plastic bucket. The recovered firearms, ammunition, and the collaborative efforts of law enforcement have significantly advanced the investigation into the break-in and larceny case.
The trio, Emannuel, Khan, and James, are now facing charges related to the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, as well as their alleged involvement in the break-in at Mohamed Hack’s residence.
