Another woman has lost her life following a domestic dispute with her reputed husband and detectives in Regional Division 4’A’ are probing the incident that led to the death of 31-year-old Lisa George of Lot 604 ‘C’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, which occurred at the mentioned address at about 03 hours today.
The 31-year-old victim was allegedly stabbed about her body twenty-two (22) times by her reputed husband who has been identified as 23 year old Meshack Douglas, security guard of Charlestown, Georgetown, who was arrested at the scene.
Investigations have so far revealed that the now dead woman wanted to end the relationship she had shared with the suspect for the past seven months due to ongoing domestic issues.
The victim’s 12-year-old son, who was at home when the incident occurred, was awakened by his mother screaming and got out of his bed and went to her bedroom, where he saw his mother lying on her back on the bed. According to the 12-year-old, the suspect was on top of the victim at the time, stabbing her about her body with a knife.
At the said time, the victim’s sister, Lovern George, who lives next door, rushed over, and the 12-year-old boy ran and opened the door. The victim’s sister, who was accompanied by her husband, ran into the bedroom and took away knives from the 23-year-old suspect.
Emergency medical technicians from the Albertown Fire Station responded to the scene moments later, where the deceased was pronounced dead by a doctor from Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
Crime scene ranks who processed the scene recovered two knives and found the woman on her back in the bedroom on her bed, clad only in her underwear. Upon examining the body, twenty-two (22) stab wounds were seen on the left arm and shoulder, right shoulder, chest, abdomen, left leg, neck, and chin.
Further investigations are ongoing.
