The Mahaica Mahaicony Abary – Agricultural Development Authority (MMA – ADA) had its fleet of machinery expanded with the addition of specialized equipment designed for desilting canals and outfall channels.
This enhancement is expected to have a direct positive impact on the local community, particularly the farmers who rely on these waterways for their agricultural activities.
During a simple yet significant handing over ceremony held at the MMA-ADA office in Overwagt, Region Five, Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha expressed his satisfaction with the progress made under his leadership.
He highlighted the remarkable transformation of the cultivation area in Region Five and emphasized the crucial role played by the MMA-ADA’s improved machinery in achieving this progress.
Minister Mustapha also underlined the challenging circumstances faced by the MMA-ADA in the past, characterized by a lack of adequate machinery.
However, he proudly announced that the authority now possesses the necessary resources to significantly enhance productivity and efficiency, marking a positive turning point in its operations.
