His Excellency President Dr. Irfaan Ali has announced that his Government will regularize and distribute land titles to approximately 1000 residents in Region 10 during 2025. The President made the announcement today while addressing hundreds of residents at a community meeting in Victory Valley, Linden.
This initiative builds on the Government’s achievements in 2024, when 750 persons received titles during regularization efforts that covered 11 areas. The Head of State reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering citizens and fostering wealth creation through property ownership. “The development, investment, commitment, partnership, and the type of ownership we want to create will continue to expand in the region,” the President assured.
President Ali highlighted that since 2020, over $5.8 billion has been invested in housing in Linden. In 2024 alone, under the miscellaneous road programme, $7.6 billion was allocated for the construction of 535 roads, with projects executed by local contractors and workers. “We are spending in every region in the interest of every Guyanese,” the President emphasized.
The President also pledged to construct a state-of-the-art community centre equipped with a boxing gym and other facilities to train youth in various disciplines. This project will be realized through a partnership between the Men on Mission programme and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Honourable Hugh Todd; Minister of Housing and Water, Honourable Collin Croal; Minister of Public Works, Honourable Bishop Juan Edghill; Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Honourable Charles Ramson; and Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Honourable Deodat Indar.
