On her social media post, First Lady, Arya Ali noted that she was honoured to serve as the patron of the American Caribbean Maritime Foundation’s Gala and Anchor Awards which was held at the Lauderdale Yacht Club, Fort Lauderdale last evening.
She used the opportunity during her speech to underscore the need for greater inclusion of women in maritime through the provision of scholarships and job opportunities.
The First Lady was also delighted to have connected with some Guyanese who have been working and operating in the maritime industry over the years
